Numbers don't lie. This is one project that is very close to my heart.
When I found out that every day in America, 1 kid or 8 children/teens are wounded or killed every 3 hours and 88 Americans died in a day due to gun-related accidents or violence. That statistics sparked a simple idea, highlight the facts that contribute to the death counts in a form of an equation. The result is a powerful simple message that traces back to the loop holes in gun regulations in America.
We design a live digital counter within the largest billboard in America, one right in front of the famous Fenway Park Stadium in Boston. The counter starts from 1,624. The number of American children and teenagers killed by guns daily since the November 2010 elections. The reaction from the masses was so intense that we even got some "strange calls" at the agency advising us to stop working on the project.
